The top of this table is made from a ten foot long red oak slab rescued from our 99 year old neighbor’s basement where it sat for the last 50 years. The story he told us is that George Nakashima purchased a slab from this same tree! The top retains its natural edge and even some worms holes from when the tree was growing. The legs are oak, ebonized by a process using rusty nails and vinegar which creates an amazing chemical reaction that occurs right before your eyes. The live edge top and graceful curves of the legs can appeal to both traditional and contemporary tastes.
